Since the Member States' decision in 1997 to make Brussels the seat of the European institutions, Brussels has become the Capital of Europe. The main square
The Grand-Place is the central square of the Belgian city of Brussels. World famous for its ornamental richness, it is bordered by the houses of the guilds, the Town hall and the King's House. Victor Hugo, considered it one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was inscribed in 1998 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
